The mission of the INMA is to conduct scientific research (fundamental and applied) and innovation in the field of processes, technologies and technical equipment of the agricultural and food industry works in the context of harmonization of entire activities to the Romanian Authority for Scientific Research and Innovation and European Union activities.
 
Main Research Directions of INMA:

Fundamental research of interaction phenomena of biological, pedoclimatic and technological factors on the technical equipment designed to modern and sustainable agriculture in the context of climate changes, sustainable development of the rural area and precision farming;

Scientific substantiation of the processes in agriculture, food industry and creating of a new technology, instruments and technical equipment compatible and competitive with the European area of the research specific to the concepts of sustainable agriculture and food safety;

Renewable power sources (biomass, biofuels), technologies and technical equipment for their use in conditions of efficiency, life, health and environment protection;

Rural development and raising of life quality by technological transfer and demonstrations of the research results performed by INMA, innovative business incubation (whithin INMA-ITA business incubator, www.inma-ita.ro) and clustering (whithin IND-AGRO-POL competitiveness pole, www.inma.ro/indagropol);

Strengthening the research basis (human resources, logistics, research equipment) and performing partnerships for connecting to ERA, including the integration into the technological platforms at the European level and the project consortium for Horizon 2020, Cosme, Eureka, Eurostar, Interreg Europe, Danube Strategy, Cross-border programmes , Erasmus etc.

IND-ANGRO-POL is a cluster managed by the National Institute of Research - Development for Machines and Installations Designed to Agriculture and Food Industry (INMA). It has 81national partners (companies, business associations, universities, RDI institutes, public authorities, chambers of commerce) and it is open to business collaborations and partnerships. IND-AGRO-POL core competence is on the agro-industry. Other related competences are: bioeconomy, renewable energy, food industry and environmental management.
